Last week we dropped by the Old Truman Brewery for the launch of the Epicurean Show, London’s new artisanal drinks and fine food festival which features more than 120 of the UK’s leading specialist producers and importers and showcases their products; many of which can only be bought online. Knowing the only thing better than an exhibition done well, is one that comes with unlimited tasting sessions of wine, spirits and craft beers – this is an event you wouldn’t to miss.
The first consumer event from the team behind the London Wine Fair (LWF), somewhat unusually for shows like this, Epicurean allows visitors to discover new wines and craft beers from up and coming and established indie producers, but then also to try them and then buy them too. This “fancy what you sample? go on and buy it then!” concept allows visitors to make a night of it while also being able to purchase individual bottles, wine cases and even mix and match cases from as many exhibitors as they want and have them home delivered in time for Christmas – clever.
Key sponsors included the likes of Wenlock Spring, Riedel wineware and Spiegelau glassware and the added bonus for us was bumping into so many of our customers and friendly faces – Corney & Barrow, Roberson Wines, Swig, Vineyards Direct and London Cru to name just few.
Here are a few pictures of our visit to the launch night. With seminars, street food, music and a resident artist included, if you’re into fine wine, craft beer, spirits and fine food, keep an eye out for next year’s event – you’d be crazy not to.
